An Original Credit Transaction (OCT) is a Visa transaction type which allows the transfer of funds to an eligible Visa account. One of the most common examples of these transfer types is passing gambling winnings back to a card used to place a bet or buy poker chips. This is often also known as a Payout.
Visa has mandated that by 30 September 2021 merchants, gateways, and third-party affiliates supporting OCTs must now capture certain customer data for OCT transactions in specific geographical regions. The table below details what information must be captured.
| Country | Customer data required |
|---|---|
| OCT for South Africa Issuer |
  |
| OCT for Canadian cross-border |
  |
| Other OCT EEA - Mandatory |
  |
You must include the address fields if:
- you are a merchant based in Canada
 - your customer uses a card issued in Canada

You do not need to supply this if you are a merchant outside Canada making an OCT transaction to a card issued outside Canada. We do, however, recommend including the address fields as they can increase your authorization rate.
| Merchant country | Card issuer country | Address data |
|---|---|---|
| Canada | Canada | Mandatory |
| Canada | Rest of the world | Mandatory |
| Rest of the world | Canada | Mandatory |
| Rest of the world | Rest of the world | Optional |
